Justice Minister Shaked says Israel needs to have realistic expectations, says Trump promised his voters - not Israel - to move Embassy.

Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked (Jewish Home) spoke on Wednesday morning about the proposal to move the US Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, and said Israel needs to put the issue in the proper perspective.

"Moving the US Embassy was a promise US President Donald Trump made to his voters, before he was elected," Shaked told Kol Barama Radio in an interview. "He did not make this promise to Israel."

"I believe that even if Trump signs an order to delay the Embassy move now, he will rethink the issue in another six months. I want to believe that by the end of his term, he will have fulfilled his promise.

"Yes, we need to ask for it, like Education Minister Naftali Bennett (Jewish Home) said, but we also have to keep in mind that this promise wasn't made to us."

Regarding Trump's promise not to allow Iran to acquire nuclear weapons, Shaked said, "This is a huge change in policy, compared to the previous administration."

"The fact that Trump came back from Saudi Arabia with this message means that we can make a US-Israel-Saudi Arabia coalition against Iran."

"I was very excited to hear Trump's speech - it was such a Zionist speech, with so many important elements," she said. "Israel has a very, very close friend in the White House."

"President Trump emphasized that children are not born incited against other cultures and other nations - they are raised by people who incite them to hate.

"We need to recognize this fact, and deal with it."
